Road Works Notice - N3 Virginia to Maghera

28 April 2026

Cavan County Council is commencing safety improvement works at three minor road junctions along the N3 between Virginia and Maghera.

Temporary Traffic Management (Stop/Go) arrangements will be in place periodically between the hours of 9am and 3pm over the next three months, as required, to facilitate hedge removal and the tipping of material along the road edge.

The works will begin at Section 2, located beside the Tirlan milk processing facility. Details of all three locations are provided in the below map.

Where required, Stop/Go arrangements will be in operation for short durations between 9am and 3pm. The majority of works will be carried out from adjacent fields, and therefore minimal disruption to traffic is expected.
