Cavan County Council has engaged Cooney Architects to develop a feasibility study for the provision of a community, enterprise, and tourism hub in Belturbet and to prepare a masterplan for the future development of the Belturbet Heritage Railway complex.

The purpose of the Masterplan is to identify suitable locations for a proposed community, enterprise, and tourism hub, as well as create a plan for the future of the Belturbet Heritage Railway complex.

The study is now at an advanced stage and as with the initial consultation, an important part of the plan preparation is engagement with the local community and property owners/tenants.

Cavan County Council hosted a public consultation evening on the Belturbet Masterplan Project in the Town Hall Civic Centre, on Wednesday 17th January 2024.

Those who were unable to attend the consultation can view the information boards and complete a feedback form at the links below:

The boards and forms are also available in hard copy at all Council offices, and at Belturbet Civic Centre from Monday, 22nd January at 8pm.

Forms should be addressed to Cavan County Council, Community, Enterprise, and Tourism, Johnston Centre, Farnham Street Cavan, H12 C9K1 or by email to belturbetmasterplan@cavancoco.ie.

The closing date for receipt of feedback forms is Friday, 26th January.
