Proposed Temporary Road Closure - R212-3 Farnham Place

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council intends to close to public traffic the roads described hereunder each night Monday night to Thursday night (inclusive) from 7pm until 7am during the period from Monday, 17th February to Friday, 7th March 2025 to facilitate Uisce Éireann undertaking essential watermain replacement works on Farnham Place and Railway Road, Cavan.

Roads Closed:

R212-3 Farnham Place, Cavan, from the end of Wolfe Tone Street (L-2539-0) & Bridge Street (L-2532-0) to the Railway Road Roundabout (R198-0).

Alternative Routes:

  • R212-3 (Farnham Street) to R-901-0 (Church Street, Main Street & James Connolly Street) to R-212-3 (College Street).
  • R-212-3 (College Street) to R-212-3, R-212-4 (Dublin Road) to L-2543-0 (Cavan Town Centre Eastern Access & Cock Hill Road) to L-2036-0 (Leisure Complex Road) to L-2034-0 (Drumalee Road) to R-188-1 (Cootehill Road) to R212-3 (Cathedral Road & Farnham Street).
  • HGVs (Travelling South): R212-3 (Farnham Street) to R-188-1, R-188-2, R-188-8 (Cootehill Road) to N3-11 (Cavan Bypass) to R212-4, R212-3 (Dublin Road) to R212-3 (College Street).
  • HGVs (Travelling North): R-212-3 (College Street) to R-212-3, R-212-4 (Dublin Road) to N3-11 (Cavan Bypass) to R-188-7, R-188-2, R-188-1 (Cootehill Road) to R212-3 (Farnham Street).

Any objections to the above road closure should be lodged in writing with the undersigned no later than 5pm on Tuesday, 28th January 2025.
