Community Hubs open for those affected by storm damage
As the Storm Éowyn clean-up continues, Cavan County Council is working with local partners through the Cavan Community Forum to put in place local community hubs where those affected by power cuts and water outages can come and avail of facilities such as charging, heat, and tea/coffee.
The following community hubs are available to the public from 10am on Monday morning, 27th January for members of the public to come in and get a cup of tea or coffee, charge phones, or just avail of the heating!

Members of the public with medical emergencies associated with power or water outages out of hours or over the weekend are advised to contact 999 or 112, or in less urgent circumstances, Doctor on Call on 1800 777 911.

This number is operational during normal working hours of 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. It will not be monitored over the weekend. Cavan County Council's out-of-hours emergency number is available for urgent issues with housing, roads, etc at 087 611 8116.
If there is a medical emergency, please dial 999 or 112. For less urgent medical issues, contact Doctor-on-Call on 1800 777 911. Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr TP O'Reilly hailed the community spirit of the people of Cavan in dealing with this historic storm, saying, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the phenomenal response from the community across the county in the face of this unprecedented disruption to basic services and the needs of our citizens".

Consumers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
