Road Closure - R-197-1 Corporation Lands

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the road described hereunder from Monday, 5 August at 8am to Friday, 16 August 2024 at 6pm inclusive, for a 24-hour closure for the purposes of resurfacing works.

Road closed:

R-197-1 'Sugar Loaf Road' from its junction with the L-1535-0 in the townland of Corporation Lands to its junction with the N-54-0 and N54-1 in the townland of Corrarod, 'Gannon's Cross'.

Alternative Route:

• Eastbound – From Junction R-197-1 / L-1535-0 travel south via L-1535-0 to Junction L-1535-0 / N-3-13, then southwards along N-3-13 to Junction N-3-13 / N-54-0 (Butlers Bridge), then northwards along N-54-0 to Junction N-54-0 / R-197-1 (Gannon’s Cross). End of detour.
• Westbound – The same alternative route in reverse will apply to westbound traffic.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works.

Local traffic in the area will be accommodated as far as practicable.
