Draft Scheme for the Establishment & Operation of Strategic Policy Committees in Cavan County Council for the period 2024 to 2029.

Cavan County Council has approved a draft scheme for the Establishment & Operation of Strategic Policy Committees in Cavan County Council for the period 2024 to 2029 to go to Public Consultation.

The Draft scheme can be viewed on the Council’s website at www.cavancoco.ie/spc. A hard copy of the scheme is available upon request from Corporate Services, Farnham Centre, Farnham Street, Cavan H12 V3W4.

The draft scheme provides for the establishment of five SPCs in the following areas:

SPC 1 – Economic Development, Enterprise and Planning

SPC 2 – Climate and Biodiversity Action & Environment

SPC 3 – Transportation, Infrastructure and Emergency Services

SPC 4 – Housing, Social Inclusion & Corporate Services

SPC 5 – Cultural Development, Irish Language and Sport

Membership of the SPCs will be made up of Elected Members and representatives of the various stakeholders and sectors active in the County.

Members of the public generally, members of community and voluntary organisations and representatives of the various stakeholder sectors are now invited to make a submission to Cavan County Council in relation to the draft scheme.
