Road Closure - Pottle Soden Bridge

All temporary emergency and proposed road closures are subject to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Roads Regulation 1994

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic the roads described hereunder from 8am on Monday, 19 August to 6pm on Saturday, 14 September 2024 for the purpose of box culvert installation and ancillary works at Pottle Soden Bridge.

Roads to be closed:

Local road L-7005 from its junctions with the L3000 / L7051. Private residents on the L7005 will have access at all times via the L7005 /L7006 / L7004 & L7051 depending on resident location.

Alternative route:

• Traffic travelling on the L7004 southbound direction towards the L7051 wishing to use the L7005 will be diverted onwards on the L7051 Lishenry Road and then turning northwest onto the L3029 Ballyjamesduff/Crosskeys Road, then continuing onto the L3026 and back onto the L7005.
• Traffic travelling on the L3000 southbound direction towards Crosskeys wishing to use the L7005 will be diverted onwards and turning southeast onto the L3026 Crosskeys/Ballyjamesduff Road and continuing onto the L3029, then turning northwest onto the L7051 Lishenry Road and then turning west back onto the L7005.

Local traffic in the area will be accommodated as much as possible but there will no through road at Pottle Soden Bridge.
