Emergency Road Closure - L2034-0 Drumalee Road

Temporary Closing of Roads pursuant to Section 75 of Roads Act 1993 and Article 12 of Road Regulations 1994

Notice is hereby given that Cavan County Council has made an order to close to public traffic, the road described hereunder from Monday, 5 August to Friday, 9 August 2024, each day from 7pm to 7am the following dayfor the purposes of resurfacing works.

Roads closed:

L-2034-0 Drumalee Road, Cavan from its junction with the R-188-1 / R-188-2 (Cootehill Road) in the townland of Drumalee to its junction with the L-2036-0 (Ardkeen Road) in the townland of Drumalee.  

Alternative Routes:

• Eastbound – From Junction R-188-2 / R-188-1 / L-2034-0 (Drumalee Cross) travel southwestwards along Cootehill Road via R-188-1 & R-188-0 to Junction R-188-0 / R-212-3, then southwards along Cathedral Road via R-212-3 to Junction R-212-3 / R-901-0, then southwards along Church Street via R-901-0 to Junction R-901-0 / L-2538-0, then eastwards along Cock Hill via L-2538-0 & along Ardkeen Road via L-2036-0 to Junction L-2036-0 / L-2034-0 / L-20341-0. End of detour.
• Westbound – From Junction L-2034-0 / L-20341-0 / L-2036-0 travel southwestwards along Ardkeen Road via L-2036-0 & along Cock Hill via L-2538-0 to Junction L-2538-0 / R-901-0, then southwards along Church Street via R-901-0 to Junction R-901-0 / L-2535-0, then westwards along Thomas Ashe Street via L-2535-0 to Junction L-2535-0 / R-212-3, then northwards along Farnham Street & Cathedral Road via R-212-3 to Junction R-212-3 / R-188-0, then eastwards along Cootehill Road via R-188-0 & R-188-1 to Junction R-188-1 / L-2012-0 / R-188-2 / L-2034-0 (Drumalee Cross). End of detour.

Diversions will be signposted for the duration of the works.

Local traffic in the area will be accommodated as far as practicable.
