Draft Air Pollution Act 1987 (Solid Fuels) Regulations 2022

The Draft Air Pollution Act 1987 (Solid Fuels) Regulations 2022 will replace all Statutory Instruments in relation to The Air Pollution Act (Marketing, Sale, Distribution and Burning of Specified Fuels) Regulations.

The Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications has outlined that it is their expectation that these proposed regulations will come into force this September as announced. As such retailers/merchants would be advised to only purchase low smoke fuels for the coming heating season. The Department will be working with local authorities and retailer representative organisations to communicate guidance as soon as it is possible to do so.
