Consultants Appointed for Cavan Town Urban Greenway
Cavan County Council has engaged a consultant to assist in the development and extension of the Cavan Town Urban Greenway.
Cavan County Council’s objectives for this greenway are:
- To develop a landmark greenway which maximizes the landscape, scenery and amenities that Cavan Town has to offer.
- To provide an innovative design that expresses the uniqueness of Cavan, meeting the needs and aspirations of its people and attracting visitors to the town.
- To develop a route that will form part of a regionally significant greenway in so far as it will link up with other proposed greenways that will traverse counties; Armagh, Monaghan, Fermanagh, Leitrim and Cavan, i.e. the northern end of the route will connect with the proposed Cavan Railway Greenway.
- To consider whether spurs from the main north-south route to other roads/streets are feasible, e.g. a connection to Railway Road (R198) and/or Farnham Road in order to cater for as much local demand as possible.
