Further to the draft screening report in relation to the Cavan County Council Climate Change Adaptation Strategy, Cavan County Council has determined, under Article 9(7) of SI No. 435/2004 European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004 (as amended by SI No. 200/2011), that the Cavan County Council Climate Change Adaptation Strategy would not be likely to have significant effects on the environment. The screening report contains this consideration and determination and is available for inspection.

The reason for the decision is that, having regard to the consideration of the content of the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy with reference to the criteria set out under Schedule 1 SI No. 435/2004 European Communities (Environmental Assessment of Certain Plans and Programmes) Regulations 2004 (as amended by SI No. 200/2011) and the results of the referrals to the environmental authorities, Cavan County Council considers that the Adaptation Strategy would not be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

The Screening Report includes the Council’s final determination, prepared on foot of a submission(s) received from the environmental authorities. The Appropriate Assessment Screening Report and determination is also available for inspection. The documents listed below are available for inspection as required by Article 9 (7)(a) of the above mentioned Regulations (SI No. 200/2011).
