In its Programme for Government, the government agreed that they would require the publication of all purchase orders greater than €20,000, with the intention to enhance the transparency of public sector procurement. This commitment was reiterated in the Public Sector Reform plan.

The Reform Plan commitments are interpreted as referring only to payments for goods, services or works procured. Purchase Orders, which are precluded under the Freedom of Information legislation are excluded.

Cavan County Council in accordance with Circular Fin 07/2012 is required to publish data on a quarterly basis relating to purchase orders paid with a value greater than or equal to €20,000. 

Information will be published quarterly (approx 4-6 weeks after the quarter ends).
