Cavan County Council is committed to providing information and services that are fully accessible to all. The site is designed in accordance with the W3C WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and conforms to most priority 1,2 and 3 checkpoints. A list of outstanding issues is set out below.

Listen to our website

Web surfers who live with mild visual impairments, learning disabilities such as dyslexia, and literacy difficulties can now listen to content on our website.

BrowseAloud, which is free to download, enables visitors to listen to the website's content, as it's read out loud. Visitors can also customise the tool in terms of colours, text size and the speed of the voice.

That's not all: BrowseAloud includes a talking dictionary, an option to convert text to MP3 format, and the ability to read HTML, PDF documents, hyperlinks and tags behind images.

DisabledGo

County Cavan is part of an international online access guide providing information to many towns, cities and areas. These access guides cover all types of businesses and services; from hotels to nightclubs, tourist attractions to banks. The information is available free of charge and is used by over 100,000 people each month.

The guide to County Cavan covers 500 public and private sector premises across the county.
