“I served on Cavan County Council during David’s term as County Manager and always enjoyed a positive working relationship with him. He was a man of great integrity, strong values, and always had the best interests of the county at heart,” said Cllr Kelly.
“On behalf of my fellow elected members, I would like to express my deepest sympathies to David’s wife Marian, their children Catherine, David, and Edward, and David’s extended family and many friends.”
Chief Executive of Cavan County Council Mr Tommy Ryan said “Though David’s time as County Manager was brief, he is remembered fondly in Cavan County Council and his short tenure was an influential one, which set the tone for much future progress in the county. He made an important contribution to many capital projects including the restoration of the Courthouse here in Cavan and the development of the Cavan Town bypass, which continue to benefit the people of Cavan to this day.
