Cathaoirleach urges public to have their say on Draft Climate Action Plan
Councillor Philip Brady, Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council has urged citizens of County Cavan to have their say on the local authority climate action plan.
“Every citizen of Cavan has a view on climate change and what we should be doing about it,” said Councillor Brady. “I urge everyone to contribute to the discussion, which will produce the County Cavan Climate Action Plan 2024 – 2029.”
“The plan will set out the mechanisms by which Cavan County Council will enhance climate resilience, increase energy efficiency, and reduce Greenhouse gas emissions across its own assets, services, and infrastructure. It will also demonstrate a broader role of influencing, advocating, and facilitating other sectors to meet their own climate targets and ambitions”.
A submission can be made online at www.cavancoco.ie/climate-action, by email to climateaction@cavancoco.ie, or by post marked “Draft LACAP” to Bróna Keating, Climate Action Coordinator, Cavan County Council Environmental Services, Farnham Street, Cavan, H12 RV10.
All submissions must be made before 4pm on Friday, 8th December 2023.
