As part of a new initiative, Cavan County Council and Cavan Town Team have launched a Paint Scheme, providing grant aid for business premises in Cavan Town who wish to paint their façade, kindly supported by Fleetwood Paints.
This scheme is a great example of local businesses, the Town Team, and the Local Authority coming together to bring about positive changes within the community. The scheme opened for applications in spring 2020, an information evening was hosted in March, and now the scheme is being rolled out, with most of the works due to be complete by the end of the Summer by which time the town will be awash with colour.
On Thursday, 2 July, paint consultations took place at Courthouse, Cavan with Fleetwood Paints’ Colour Consultant Patricia Wakely talking successful applicants through the options for their business façade.
Speaking following the consultations, Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Councillor Sarah O’Reilly said, “It’s great to see local businesses come together to rejuvenate the town by adding a splash of colour to the streetscape. County Cavan is very much open for business and this fantastic collaboration between Cavan County Council and Cavan Town Team can only help encourage people to shop local and support local employment”.
